SMTP check with Autoreply

Feature Request

I’d like Uptime to send an email to a service mailbox on my domain, for example, Checkemail@myemail.com . When the mailbox receives the email from check@uptime.com, it would automatically reply. If Uptime receives the auto-reply, the test is considered successful. If not, it would indicate a delivery issue, and I’d like to be alerted

    @FabrizioRMIT Hi! This is definitely a really cool check and we have been considering SMPTP roundtrip tests similar to exactly described here. A few questions.

    1. On our side we are bit concerned of this test being used for abuse or even impacting delivery of legitimate mail . We are looking into ways to do this that doesn’t impact negatively mail delivery for both us, and receiver, you.

    2. One of the big things with this test is going to be frequency. How often do you want this to run or need it to run? Every 5 minutes will probably put us both on spam lists.

    3. The domain “uptime.com” would probably not be used to not impact of email delivery scores in the even a bunch of tests suddenly fail for spam/IPblocklist, etc etc reasons. Would a list of domains say - uptimedelivery.com, uptimeemailcheck.com, uptimesmptpcheck.com be viable?
